How does Affirm work?
Affirm gently treats the area with enhancing micro-pulses of light to help stimulate collagen production, making skin appear more supple and full, while helping to treat wrinkles. The Affirm also treats discoloration, a common condition associated with aging skin that results in age and sun spots.
Can Affirm treat wrinkles, or any age-related skin condition?
The Affirm treatment is specifically designed to diminish the effects of time on the skin such as wrinkles, photo-aging, and other conditions.
How do I know if I am a candidate?
If your skin is showing signs of any of the above-mentioned conditions, you are a candidate. Consult with Dr. Chen to determine your specific needs.
Do I need to do anything specific before the treatment?
Dr. Chen will advise you of any preparation depending on the treatment you choose.
Is the treatment safe?
Yes, the system can be safely used by a trained practitioner to treat a variety of conditions.
What about side effects?
Typically side effects from the treatment are minimal. Patients usually report redness, puffiness, or mild swelling in the treatment area that can last hours to a few days. Transient tanning of the skin may result and should resolve within 2-3 weeks.
Do I have to do anything special after each treatment?
You may resume your normal routine, although using a sunscreen is recommended. Your practitioner will review specific post-treatment instructions with you.
When will I see results?
Results vary with each case. With some conditions one treatment may be sufficient, while others might require 2-6 treatments before noticeable results may be seen.
