Cupertino Medical Laser Center
aka "SmartLipo Institute of Silicon Valley"
Was it the sun that damaged your skin or was it those acne-filled adolescent years? Maybe it's old age. Who knows? Who cares? At Cupertino Medical Laser Center, the focus is not on what caused your less-than-perfect skin, but what we can do to fix it.
Medical Director Yung Chen, M.D., has been in practice for over 10 years. He is an active member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery (AACS), and is also a board certified physician. Dr. Chen is a graduate of Temple University School of Medicine and completed his residency in family practice at the Montgomery Hospital Medical Center. He is also a certified injector for Restylane, Radiesse, Juvederm and Botox. With experience behind him, Dr. Chen now has two practices in the South Bay – a general medical center and a medical cosmetic center. Because both facilities are located in the same location, Dr. Chen is on site at all times to cater to the needs of clients.
At the new and bigger location on Bubb Road, just off Highway 85, Cupertino Medical Laser Center continues its tradition of great service. Here at the Cupertino Medical Laser Center we are committed to professional achievement and quality health care. We promote patient safety and quality of care. The goal for us at the Cupertino Medical Laser Center is to provide cosmetic procedures to enhance our patients’ overall appearance and well being, while providing a safe, clean environment, with a friendly, skilled and knowledgeable staff.

Moreover, our clinic offers laser rejuvenation therapy with no downtime. It used to be that patients needed weeks to recover after undergoing a skin resurfacing procedure. But the revolutionary cap technology used at Cupertino Medical Laser allows for skin resurfacing minus the downtime and risks. The Cap technology has made it possible to penetrate the skin without burning through its surface layer, taking away risks like burning and hyper-pigmentation.
Our experienced laser specialist Gayla Forbes, R.N., performs the laser hair removals and laser facials under the supervision of Yung Chen, M.D. Gayla joined our staff in April 2007, shortly after our move to the new location. She received her nursing degree at De Anza College and lives in nearby Sunnyvale. She worked part-time in medical nursing while her children were young, but changed to cosmetic nursing five years ago. She works primarily with lasers, but also uses various other aesthetic light-based equipment. “I feel very fortunate to have the opportunity to be part of such a rewarding and fun profession. Working at such a beautiful place with great staff and patients makes everyday exciting. This is such a dynamic field and seeing my patients leave with great results makes this job the best.”
